The Women of Courage Project is a storytelling initiative for racialized immigrant women, aged 40 and over. This FREE 7-week online workshop will start on January 24, 2023, with meetings held every Tue & Thu between 6 – 8 pm.

Three facilitators will cover storytelling, anti-racism, and self-care. Participants will also have access to one-to-one appointments for storytelling, digital skills, writing coach and mental health support.

At the end of the training, participants will have:

  • developed a toolbox of storytelling formats,
  • drafted a story/artwork to submit for exhibition,
  • challenged their perspectives, and
  • made some new friendships.

The storytelling themes of this Project and exhibition are rooted in migration, anti-racism and courage. A spring exhibition tour is set to launch on Sunday, February 19, 2023. The exhibition will tour four historic museums until May 2023, in time for Museum Month. The project will also be part of the City of Toronto’s Awakenings Program.
