Walk for Kids Help Phone – Sunday, May 7, 2023

Kids Help Phone

Kids Help Phone is the OSSTF/FEESO designated charity, and the Federation has a proud history of supporting this important organization. Their mission is to improve the well-being of children and youth in Canada by providing them with anonymous and confidential professional counselling, referrals, and information in English and French, using a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week telephone and online service.

Each year, Kids Help Phone holds its annual charity walk called Walk So Kids Can Talk. Many Districts and Bargaining Units have organized OSSTF/FEESO teams to participate at a walk in their local area. This has proven to be a great opportunity to help raise funds for Kids Help Phone and to highlight the federation’s work in the community.

This year, the Walk So Kids Can Talk will take place in several communities across the province on Sunday, May 7.

Districts and Bargaining Units are encouraged to organize their own local OSSTF/FEESO team to participate in a walk nearest to them. Kids Help Phone also has the option to create your own teams for a virtual walk in your local area. In addition, Districts and Bargaining Units should consider apply for funding from Account 2047 – Community Outreach to help cover some of the costs associated with member participation in a local walk, such as team t-shirts and refreshments.

Information and registration of individuals and teams to collect donations and participate can be found on the Walk So Kids Can Talk website.
