2025 Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) Special Recognition Award

OSSTF/FEESO proudly supports the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) Special Recognition Award. This award is presented annually to an organization, group, or individual to acknowledge outstanding contributions to publicly funded education beyond the school board level in Ontario. The criteria for nomination of this award are that the efforts of the individual, group, or organization nominated must aim to improve publicly funded education in Ontario. Their contributions must have been sustained over an extended period. Their contributions may be at the local or provincial level. An individual cannot be nominated for their work as a school board employee. The group or organization cannot be nominated for work that originated at the school board level. The deadline for receiving nominations at OTF is March 31, 2025. Anyone can nominate an individual, group, or organization for this award. That includes parents, students, teachers, administrators, or the public. The award recipient will be notified in May 2025 and recognized with a certificate at the OTF Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors in August 2025. The award’s monetary prize is $1,000. This monetary amount may be directed to the award recipient or an educational, charitable organization or other worthwhile educational cause designated by the recipient.
