Pathways to Leadership for Women in OSSTF/FEESO

The ‘Pathways to Leadership for Women in OSSTF/FEESO’ document is for members who identify as women, some or all of the time. This document was originally created in 2017 by the OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Status of Women Committee. The Provincial Status of Women Committee members are proud to announce that this document has been updated, with equity in mind, to include more intersectionality and reflect the changes in OSSTF/FEESO policies/procedures that have occurred since 2017. Women tell us, time and again, that they want resources that speak to their experiences in our Federation.  This resource was created with a tripartite goal: identifying the potential pathways to leadership for women in their union, suggesting the skills, attributes, and responsibilities these pathways might require, and illuminating the resources that OSSTF/FEESO provides for members that can facilitate their pursuit of leadership. This resource also recognizes that every woman’s experience will be different, depending on the nature of their job class, worksite, Bargaining Unit and District and their lived experience.  It is the hope that this document will empower more women to become informed about the countless ways they can get involved and make a difference in OSSTF/FEESO. https://www.osstf.on.ca/en-CA/about-us/what-we-stand-for/equity.aspx
