LaborNotes is coming to Ontario DBU #032/2025−2026

OSSTF/FEESO is proud to sponsor and endorse the Toronto Troublemakers School, hosted by LaborNotes, on Saturday October 18, 2025, in Toronto.

LaborNotes, a US-based labor organization founded in 1979, has been an important partner to the Federation as we developed our Member & Community Organizing strategies and embarked on our Strategic Action Plan. LaborNotes hosts trainings across the US as a method of supporting rank-and-file labour activists in learning how to organize their worksites and within their communities.

The one-day mini conference will teach local leaders and worksite leaders various methodologies and teachings from their book Secrets of a Successful Organizer. Activists will take part in at least three primary courses on worksite organizing and how to engage more members in union work.

OSSTF/FEESO is encouraging District Organizing Leads, Local Leaders and any worksite representatives to attend this training to bolster our membership mobilization for our bargaining campaign.

We encourage members wishing to register to work with their local leadership and identify local funds available to attend. Account #2015—Union/Health and Safety Training Programs from the Financial Handbook is available which provides funds to assist individual members to attend union training programs, in coordination with their Bargaining Unit, and subject to local release time allowances for any travel needed as necessary.
