French Language Proficiency Professional Development Funding—DBU #043/2025-2026

OSSTF/FEESO is a member of the French as a Second Language Labour Market Partnership Committee (FSL-LMPC). One of the goals of the funded projects of the FSL-LMPC is to explore professional learning opportunities that have a positive impact on educators’ knowledge, confidence and French language proficiency in order to increase retention of workers in French as a Second Language (FSL) programs.
While funds are dispersed through the Ontario Teachers Federation (OTF), all OSSTF/FEESO members are eligible to apply (job class is not relevant to eligibility).
Funds can be used to participate in a professional learning activity or program or to purchase resources to support FSL proficiency and pedagogy, and you can work with other FSL educators in a collaborative learning team of two to four or apply for an individual grant. For those working in a team, the maximum grant is $500 per team member (to a maximum of $2,000 per team), and for those working individually, the maximum grant is $250. The deadline to apply is 5:00pm on October 16, 2025.
Applications and details are shared through OTF on social media and are found here: https://www.otffeo.on.ca/en/learning/ici-on-parle-francais-pd-grants-for-fsl-teachers/
While the link takes one to the OTF website that says it is for “FSL teachers”, please note the logo below – specifically for OSSTF/FEESO members—highlighting that ALL members are eligible.
