Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges in Education

AI in education urvey

If you work in a school, a Board office, or any other educational space, you have almost certainly felt the impact of artificial intelligence. You are also likely aware of its potential to help and/or harm both student learning and your professional life. Because of artificial intelligence’s potential to be both helpful and harmful, OSSTF/FEESO is committed to supporting high quality research into how AI affects our members and their working conditions.

OSSTF/FEESO is therefore pleased to encourage all members working in the K-12 sector to participate in a study led by Dr. Sava Saheli Singh. Dr. Singh is a recipient of an OSSTF/FEESO Research Grant on Emerging Issues and was a panelist at OSSTF/FEESO’s 2025 Educational Services Conference.

Dr. Singh is looking to interview people over 18 who are secondary school teachers, student teachers preparing to teach in secondary school, or education workers who use AI in their professional role. Interviews will last 45-60 minutes and participants will receive a $30 gift card for their time. Interviews will be conducted in English only.

Participation is voluntary, but if interested you are encouraged to fill out this short form to confirm your eligibility and sign up for the study:  https://bit.ly/aiandedu.  The researchers will invite 20–30 people from the eligible volunteers to participate in interviews.

If you have questions about the study, please contact Dr. Singh at:
