Cancellation of the Workers Health and Safety Centre Instructor Training Scholarship

This spring, the Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC) has announced the launch of free instructor training courses hosted in five regional training facilities across Ontario. These regional courses are being offered in lieu of the Instructor Training Scholarships traditionally provided at the WHSC annual Instructor Training Conference.

This new model stems from financial constraints—the result of 19 years of frozen government funding paired with increased delivery costs. While this shift was necessary, it ensures that WHSC can continue delivering essential training opportunities to union members across Ontario.

Regional Training Dates and Locations

The regional training dates and locations are as follows:

London: April 7-16, 2026
Markham: April 20-29, 2026
Sudbury: April 13-22, 2026
Hamilton: May 4-13, 2026
St. Catharines: July 13-24, 2026
