Budget 2026: Still Underfunding Public Education

Following the provincial budget, it’s clear this government is still not addressing the real issues in our schools and on our campuses.

While headlines point to supply cards for elementary teachers and limited post-secondary funding, our members know the reality: overcrowded classrooms, not enough teachers and education workers, and ongoing layoffs across public education, from pre-kindergarten to post-secondary.

That’s why members across Ontario are saying it clearly, we are underfunded and over it.

With bargaining ahead, this is our moment to push for smaller class sizes, more staff, and real investment in public education.
