HSWSIAC Conference 2026

The Health and Safety/Workplace Safety and Insurance Act Committee (HS/WSIAC) Conference will be held on May 29-30, 2026, at the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites (5875 Airport Rd, Mississauga, ON L4V 1N1). 

This year’s conference theme is Universal Road to Safety. The conference will feature workshops on a variety of topics related to health and safety at the local level.

Bargaining Units are strongly encouraged to send their constitutionally elected/appointed Health and Safety Officers.

Provincial Office will cover the costs of one (1) member per Bargaining Unit to attend this conference. Extra delegates may also register for the conference with all costs (i.e. hotel accommodation, release time, travel, etc.) covered by the Bargaining Unit. Fees to cover the event costs to participate include the cost of materials, hotel accommodation, meeting rooms, reception, and parking fees. Please refer to the table below:

District/Bargaining Units MUST complete the attached Approved Delegates form and submit it prior to registration and requests for release time. All participants MUST be approved by their Bargaining Unit president prior to registration.

Conference registration and information will be available on the OSSTF/FEESO website on April 1, 2026, by logging in to the Registered Users section of the website and clicking the

Health and Safety Conference Link under the “Upcoming” section.

Registration will close on Friday, May 1, 2026.

In addition to the delegate allotments noted above, an additional ten (10) Provincial Office sponsored delegate spots will be open to members who identify as First Nations, Métis, Inuit, Black and/or equity-seeking. These spots will be filled using a lottery selection from the applicants and all costs will be covered by the Provincial Office.

Members seeking to be included in the lottery for one of the Provincial Office sponsored spots are asked to fill out a Voluntary Self-Identification Form (Attachment 2) and email it to healthsafety-conference@osstf.ca noting your interest by April 10, 2026. The lottery for these additional spots will take place on April 13, 2026, at which point selected members will be contacted and asked to register by the registration deadline of May 1, 2026.
