Equity Advisory Work Group – Call for Members

equity matters logo

The Provincial Executive is seeking to fill four vacancies on the Equity Advisory Work Group (EAWG) for the 2022 / 2023 Federation year. The EAWG is a permanent advisory body to the Provincial Executive.

The role of the EAWG is to advise the Provincial Executive on any matters related to inclusion and equity within the Federation and any other matters that may be referred to it by the Provincial Executive.  Members of the EAWG can serve concurrently on other OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Standing Committees, Councils and Work Groups.

Members selected to be part of the work group must be able to secure release time from their employer (paid for by OSSTF/FEESO).  The work group typically meets three to four times a year. Provincial Office will cover costs to attend all meetings, including time release, transportation, accommodation and meals, as per the Federation Activity Allowable Expenditure Guidelines.

Any member in good standing with OSSTF/FEESO interested in applying to the EAWG needs to:

  • submit a brief statement of interest, video, or other document(s) outlining their experience, expertise and interest working towards building inclusive and equitable working/learning environments, as well as any other information that they would like the Provincial Executive to consider.

Applicants are encouraged to complete the voluntary self-identification form and submit it with their statement of interest, video, or other document(s). The storage and use of this self-identification data will not be tied to any identifying information.

Applications may be submitted to Jennifer Seif at Provincial Office by 4:00 pm on Monday, September 26, 2022 by email at jennifer.seif@osstf.ca.
