Rally for Better Child Care – November 30
On November 30th, 2022, the National Day of Action for Child Care, OSSTF/FEESO was proud to attend a rally at Queen’s Park in support of Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC). Early childhood educators, families, child care advocates, and allies from across Ontario joined together in spite of the rain to demand for better child care, better pay, better quality, and better access!
The $13.2-billion federal-provincial funded program announced in March 2022 has a goal of a $10-a-day child care fee by 2025. There are growing concerns that this program could jeopardize the quality of early childhood education programs, access to learning materials and the ability of child care centres to pay ECE’s a living wage.
