Introduction to 2SLGBTQI Inclusion: Building Inclusive Schools
This webinar is the perfect starting point (or refresher) for educators looking to build more inclusive schools and communities. Participants will be introduced to foundational terms and concepts about 2SLGBTQI inclusion. From learning about the 2SLGBTQI acronym and components of identity, to understanding pronouns and best allyship practices, participants will leave with the foundational knowledge and tools they need to create more inclusive schools for 2SLGBTQI students and staff.
The presence of affirming adults both inside and outside the home environment are a critical factor in protecting the positive mental health and overall well-being of 2SLGBTQI youth. This webinar explores the vital role that all adults across the whole school community can take up in promoting environments where 2SLGBTQI youth and adults can thrive. Key characteristics of what being affirming means will be explored along with the sharing of practical strategies and support resources. Participants will also have an opportunity to exchange promising tips and tools with one another.
