Long-Term Disability Advisory Work Group Vacancies

The Provincial Executive seeks to fill three 3-year terms on the Long-Term Disability Advisory Work Group. Two vacancies must be filled by a Member from a District whose LTD plan is underwritten by OTIP. A Member from District 9, District 12, or District 19 must fill the other vacancy, where Teachers’ Life underwrites the LTD plan. These Members must be enrolled in the Provincial OSSTF/FEESO LTD Plan and, as such, must be from Teacher Bargaining Units (TBUs).

Bylaw 12.6.14.1 states that:
The Provincial OSSTF/FEESO LTD Advisory Work Group shall advise the Provincial Executive on any matters related to the Provincial OSSTF/FEESO LTD Plan and such other matters as may be referred to it by the Provincial Executive.

The LTD Advisory Work Group consists of representatives from Bargaining Units representing teachers who are Members of the Plan. The Work Group meets a minimum of two times annually, with additional meetings held as necessary.

Any Teacher Bargaining Unit (TBU) Member in good standing with OSSTF/FEESO who is interested in applying to the LTD Advisory Work Group must complete the attached form and submit it to Lisa MacMaster, Executive Assistant at OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office, by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Members must be able to obtain time release (paid for by OSSTF/FEESO). Applicants should verify with their local President that there are no time release restrictions from their Bargaining Unit. Provincial Office administrative staff will also contact Bargaining Unit Presidents regarding the availability of individuals being considered. Individuals selected to participate in the LTD Advisory Work Group and their Bargaining Unit President will be notified following approval by the Provincial Executive.

OSSTF/FEESO is committed to fostering an inclusive environment and values the participation of members with various lived experiences. We actively seek and welcome applications from members of First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and equity-seeking groups. Self-identification is voluntary. If you choose to self-identify, please complete the Self-Identification Form.

Please submit your applications to Lisa.MacMaster@osstf.ca.
