How do I enrol in an OSSTF Benefits Plan?
Boards and School Authorities provide Human Resource Information System (HRIS) data to OTIP that identifies when a member is eligible to enrol in an OSSTF Benefits plan or if there are eligibility changes. OTIP then notifies the member that they are eligible to enrol through an email sent to the member’s Board email address. Members are then required to log into their OTIP My Member Account and complete their enrolment. What does OTIP’s My Member Account give me access to? | OTIP RAEO
All eligible active members are automatically covered for Basic Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefits based on 2 times annual earnings for the duration of their eligible assignment. Participation in Optional Life, health and/or dental benefits is voluntary. It is very important that members realize that they only have a 31-day window of opportunity to participate in these benefits when they initially become eligible or if they have a future life change event to avoid late applicant restrictions being applied. Even if a member does not wish to participate in health and or dental benefits it is important that they still complete their enrolment event in order to designate beneficiaries for their life insurance benefit.
