Strategic Action Plan Submissions 2027-2030

At AMPA 2024, OSSTF/FEESO moved from an Annual Action Plan with mostly stand-alone, one-year initiatives to adopt a three-year Strategic Action Plan (SAP) to allow for multi-year planning around core priorities focused on promoting and protecting publicly funded education, defending and supporting our members, mobilizing members, and engaging communities.

Last year, AMPA 2026 approved the three-year 2026-2029 Strategic Action Plan, which focused on priorities to build bargaining power, push back on underfunding, end workplace violence, and prepare for the next Ontario election, among others.

At AMPA 2027, OSSTF/FEESO members will be presented with an updated SAP. The Provincial Executive will again bring forward the new model for the annual SAP renewal based on a three-year rolling plan. This model means the SAP can adapt our strategic plans and priorities to respond to changing social and economic realities, while remaining focused on broader goals and objectives.

At each subsequent AMPA, members will continue to be presented with a detailed and costed proposal for the year ahead, but a new year will be added to the plan, ensuring that actions and priorities are always situated within a three-year plan. A progress report on SAP actions will be presented at every AMPA, and at Provincial Council meetings in between.

As we embark on the continued updating of the SAP, spanning into 2029-2030, the Provincial Executive is seeking input from Districts, Bargaining Units, committees, and members at large.

We are looking for feedback, ideas, and proposed initiatives to guide OSSTF/FEESO in the term ahead, utilizing the priorities identified in the SAP for 2029-2030:

• What actions or initiatives should be undertaken to advance the interests of our sector, our members, and our communities?
• What is the rationale to support your proposal(s)?
• How would your proposal complement the current Plan?
• How much should be budgeted for each proposed initiative?

The Vice-Presidents will collect the input for the Strategic Action Plan. Once approved by the Provincial Executive, the Strategic Action Plan will be presented as a draft document at Provincial Council’s November meeting. The final document will be presented and recommended by the Provincial Executive for approval at AMPA in March 2026.
