Pride Returns Across the Province

OSSTF/FEESO is pleased to be able to continue its support of province-wide Pride celebrations. Recognition and support of 2SLGBTQI+ Members, students, families, and communities are an important part of the solidarity work done by OSSTF/FEESO and other labour organizations. As plans for local Pride celebrations across the province are announced, you are encouraged to get involved and show your support.

Pride Swag for Local Events Featuring Our OSSTF/FEESO Pride Logos

Branded pencils with the new OSSTF/FEESO Pride logo and erasers that include “erase hate” will be available in limited quantities. Last year we were able to roll out our new logo which utilizes the Progress Flag, which in its most updated form improves on the original 1978 Pride flag and extends the representation of Pride to include people of colour, trans individuals, those living with HIV/AIDS, and intersex people.

Ordering SWAG for Local Pride

OSSTF/FEESO has ordered pencils, erasers, and stickers for Districts to obtain for your local Pride events. To order them, please contact Vanessa.Stoby@osstf.ca at the Provincial Office through your District President.

Additionally, we continue to have Safer Space stickers specifically for Member use. It is important that these stickers not be shared at local Pride events, as they are designed to help Members self-identify as Federation Members who are providing a Safer Space for students and colleagues.

Toronto Pride Involvement

OSSTF/FEESO will again be represented at Toronto Pride, including hosting a table at the Pride Street Fair on Saturday, June 24 – Sunday, June 25, and walking in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

We will be seeking volunteers to participate in both the Street Fair and Pride Parade. More information on registering for the event will be shared in an upcoming D/BU. Complete information about Pride Toronto’s events can be found at the Pride Toronto 2023 website.
