The Provincial Standing Committees and Councils applications for 2025-2026 are now available on the OSSTF/FEESO website.

Below is a list of Provincial Standing Committees and Councils with vacancies:

  • Addressing Anti-Black Racism/Racism Committee
  • Health and Safety/Workplace Safety and Insurance Act Committee
  • Comité des services en langue française
  • Human Rights Committee
  • Communications and Political Action Committee
  • Parliamentary and Constitution Council
  • Educational Services Committee
  • Protective Services Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Status of Women Committee

Members may only serve on one Provincial standing committee or council at a time, which applies to all standing committees and all deliberative standing councils to which members are appointed.

The deadline for on-time applications for term vacancies is March 1, 2025. Applications received after that time will be considered late and only be considered for appointment if there are insufficient on-time applications for a specific committee/council. Please note that the deadline for co-option applications is May 1, 2025.

There is a Standing Committee and Councils Application Information Document available on the website that you may find helpful while filling out your application. It includes General Information about the Nomination Process for Applicants, the Application Process, Provincial Council Handbook References and the Statement of Needs, which contains helpful information about the mandate and meetings and other information for each committee and council.

A reminder that upon the completion of a maximum of one term and one co-option, or three co-options on any committee or council when appointed by Provincial Council or a committee or council, members will be ineligible to serve on any committee or council for one Federation year.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) is dedicated to equity, anti-racism and anti-oppression while protecting and enhancing public education. OSSTF/FEESO values the participation of members with various lived experiences. We actively seek and welcome applications from First Nations, Métis, Inuit, or equity-seeking members. Self-identification is voluntary. If you choose to self-identify, please complete the OSSTF/FEESO Voluntary Self-Identification Form.
