How to Talk to Friends and Family
OSSTF/FEESO recognizes the power of your conversations with family, friends, and neighbours in shaping how people understand Ontario’s publicly funded education system. Each year, these discussions help counter misinformation while highlighting the excellence that education workers and teachers bring to classrooms across the province. As we move toward a new round of school board sector negotiations in 2026, these conversations take on renewed importance. They shine a spotlight on the government’s ongoing efforts to underfund and undermine public education, all while promoting policies that put private profit ahead of the public good.
To support members in having clear, fact-based discussions, the Federation has once again prepared “How to Talk to Friends and Family” infographics, for K-12 education and post-secondary (in English and French) with key talking points and messaging. We hope these resources help spark meaningful conversations about the essential work of teachers and education workers in Ontario’s publicly funded education system.
OSSTF/FEESO wishes all members and their families a restful winter break.
