Invitation to Apply to the Protect Services Committee and the Central Bargaining Advisory Work Groups

The Central Bargaining Advisory Work Groups advise the Provincial Executive during central bargaining for members covered under the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act (SBCBA). There are two advisory groups:

  1. Education Workers Advisory Group
  2. Teachers and Occasional Teachers Advisory Group

Each advisory work group consists of 14 members, including 10 designated members of the Protective Services Committee (PSC), appointed by the Provincial Executive, who sit on the PSC. The term for designated members expires at the start of the Federation year before the Central Collective Agreement expires. Therefore, the term of the current designated members of the Protective Services Committee will expire on July 1, 2025.  There are 10 designated member vacancies for Education Workers and another 10 designated member vacancies for Teachers and Occasional Teachers to be filled for the next round of central negotiations.

How to Apply:

  1. Complete the Provincial Standing Committees and Councils application process, which can be found on the OSSTF/FEESO provincial website, and apply to the Protective Services Committee (PSC).
  2. Use the PSC application form and matrix to complete your application.
  3. Choose Your Application Option:
    • Indicate if you want to be considered for:
      1. Both the Central Bargaining Advisory Work Group and the Protective Services Committee (PSC) or
      2. A three-year term on the Protective Services Committee (PSC) only.

Note: There are no co-options to PSC. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2025.
