Vacancies on the Mediation Services Resource Bank (MSRB)

OSSTF/FEESO is unique among unions as it provides mediation services to members who find themselves in serious workplace conflict with other members. Many (but not all) member-to-member conflicts can be dealt with by the Mediation Services Resource Bank (MSRB).
MSRB’s mediators, like you, are OSSTF/FEESO members who come from a diverse range of job classes, geographic areas, and lived experiences. This diversity is our strength, and it enriches our conflict resolution approaches.
The Provincial Executive seeks to fill up to three (3) vacancies on the MSRB. A member selected for appointment to the MSRB by the Provincial Executive will serve a five (5) year term.
While we welcome applications from all members in good standing, we are committed to ensuring diversity within the MSRB. Therefore, priority will be given to applicants who identify as Black, First Nations, Métis, Inuit, Francophone, 2SLGBTQI+, a Person Living with a Disability, Racialized and/or a Woman.
Self-identification is voluntary. If an applicant chooses to self-identify, please complete the found OSSTF/FEESO Voluntary Self-Identification Form below.
A member appointed to the MSRB may concurrently serve on any advisory work group, provincial standing committee or council and/or be a Provincial Councilor. The only exception is for any member who is currently serving a term on the Judicial Council; they cannot be appointed to the MSRB until their term on the Judicial Council ends.
Members selected to be part of the MSRB must be able to secure time release from their employer, paid for by OSSTF/FEESO. Applicants should verify with their local president that there are no restrictions on time release from their Bargaining Unit. Individuals appointed to the MSRB and their Bargaining Unit President will be notified following approval by the Provincial Executive.
The MSRB meets twice (2) times per year, once in the Fall and once in late Spring, and this could include training opportunities. In addition, newly appointed members to the MSRB must participate in mediation and conflict resolution training, as approved by the Provincial Office, which will assume all appropriate expenses. This training can last up to five (5) work days.
Application Process
